Global IoT Summit 2019

BEIA Consult participates in GIoTS on 17-21 June 2019 in Aarhus, Denmark. The 2019 Global IoT Summit (GIoTS) seeks contributions on how to nurture and cultivate IoT technologies and applications for the benefit of society. This summit was a part of the IoT Week. During the event, the BEIA researcher disseminated the SealedGRID project. Others researchers are very interesting about the SealedGRID and its goals. There was a very fruitful discussion about the SealedGRID approach on IOT.

New SealedGRID Secondment

Alexandru Vulpe from BEIA started his new secondment at the UPRC on 6/10/2019. He will get involved in the WP3 which is about the key management; since BEIA seconded researchers will design the blockchain mechanism that will adapt on the key management in order to establish trust relationships and trusted paths among the SealedGRID entities.

Romania-Israel Cybersecurity Forum

Participation at the Romania-Israel Cybersecurity Forum on 5 June 2019 in Bucharest, Romania, allowed BEIA to discuss with potential stakeholders about SealedGRID during the conducted B2B meetings and to disseminate the latest advances within the project.

Progress of the SealedGRID key management mechanism

The UPRC seconded researchers together with the BEIA researchers at BEIA’s headquarters in Bucharest finalize the key management mechanism. Currently, they have already developed this mechanism based on a specific model which has already been mentioned in the Deliverable D2.1. Furthermore, now they are trying to evaluate the mechanism performance during scenarios that depict the classic progress of a smart grid network.

Cybersecurity Romania – Bucharest Talks

BEIA Consult participated in Cybersecurity Romania, Bucharest Talks on 4 June 2019 in Bucharest, Romania.

“BUCHAREST TALKS” is the “newborn” of a series of international events with the main characteristic of being strictly nonprofit, apolitical, neutral, non-marketing and non-technical, allowing for an international dialogue of the highest quality. SealedGRID researchers discussed the state-of-the-art security measures which are taken in order to protect the participated entities.

SealedGRID Progress

SealedGRID progress and implementation were discussed during their current internal meeting at BEIA headquarters in Bucharest. The seconded researchers from UPRC together with BEIA researchers presented and discussed their progress on the authorization mechanism and on the key management. The results of the key management mechanisms will be available in the upcoming deliverable D3.1 “Key management mechanism” at the end of June.

Bucharest CyberDrill 2019

BEIA Consult participated in Bucharest CyberDrill on 27-31 May 2019 in Romania. The CyberDrill event hosted by University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB), the largest and the oldest technical university in Romania, with its traditions connected to the founding of the first Romanian higher technical school, back in 1818.

SealedGRID Internal meeting in BEIA

These days the SealedGRID seconded researchers from UPRC, in conjunction with BEIA’s researchers have an internal meeting to discuss issues about the SealedGRID architecture and the utilized authorization mechanism. Being more specific they discuss the integration of Blockchain in the SealedGRID authorization mechanism. After their meeting they developed progress on their integration. As future work they aim to implement it.

ZF Cybersecurity Trends 2019

ZF Cybersecurity Trends 2019 on 21 May in Bucharest, Romania, was an important event for SealedGRID dissemination, because of the numerous participants activating in the field of cybersecurity who attended, and the talks that were about the methods through which an IT infrastructure breaks down and how an attack can be intercepted. There were also presented the future of cyber attacks, and the new generation of cybersecurity entrepreneurs exposed their vision, the impact of GDPR.



The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many SMEs to implement a quick transition to a more digitalised workflow. provides a number of resources which SMEs could benefit from, particularly in the current situation where cybersecurity skills are more needed than ever.
