Castilla y León as a leading region in Spain’s cybersecurity thanks to the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub

The Cybersecurity Innovation Hub, just presented on its first 2019 event on the 18th of February in León (Spain) is a digital ecosystem around cybersecurity and advanced technologies, mainly directed at companies to help them carry out their digital transformation in a safe digital environment. http://www.aei.org/tag/cybersecurity/

Based in the region of Castilla y León, the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub is promoted by the main three cybersecurity agents in the region. A consortium formed by the Regional Government of Castilla y León through the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE) and the AEI Cybersecurity and Advanced Technologies represents its Management Committee.

The figures of the Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) were created and promoted by the European Commission as multipurpose marketplaces to aid companies to get into the digital world and Castilla y León’s Hub accomplishes this mission perfectly.

Services

The Cybersecurity Innovation Hub offers physical and virtual demo spaces where to test different technologies, services in the Research & Development field, specialized training in advanced technologies and cybersecurity and provides assistance in the co-development of projects and technologies, in the recruitment of professionals of the sector and in the promotion of entrepreneurial ideas.

Success cases

Despite its short lifespan the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub is already able to bring to the table numerous success cases, both accomplished as a hub and within its main components. In response to a lack in cybersecurity evaluation mechanisms, the Hub promoted the generation of the Seal of Cybersecurity for organizations. The Hub’s partners also have an history of supporting SMEs in cybersecurity R&D project and in digital trust.
