
Vasilios A. Siris is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics and a member of the Mobile Multimedia Laboratory at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. From 2002 until 2009 he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Crete and from 1993 until 2011, he was a Research Associate at the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH). He was the Principal Investigator and/or had a coordinating role in many research and development projects funded by the European Union, the Greek government, and the industry, in the areas of wireless/mobile networks, traffic measurement and analysis, and the Internet of Things. He has over 120 publications in international peer reviewed journals and conferences, in addition to one international and two Greek patents in the area of resource management in wireless and mobile networks.
Vasilios is related to the H2020 project SOFIE - Secure Open Federation for Internet Everywhere - where he is investigating the application of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) and interledger mechanisms to support privacy and trusted communication in the Internet of Things.
On the event of the adoption of the draft regulation laying down measures for a high common level of cybersecurity at the institutions, bodies, offices and agencies of the Union, the AI4HealthSec project kicked off a process to provide its opinion.
