The aim of the project SecureFog is the development and implementation of a Fog layer, which enables the secure access and exchange of data. The partners are developing innovative security mechanisms that are tailored precisely to the requirements of the industrial environment. The challenges are the implementation of very high security requirements for long lifecycles and the automated management of cryptographic keys for a variety of devices. In addition, these devices often have limited resources and lack interfaces with network operators or users.
The security mechanisms are integrated in flexible communication protocols. The operational capability is evaluated both in a practical test environment and in a demonstrator with exemplary use in logistics.
