
The goal of this research project is to provide significant advances on the issues that appear in modern voting and e-voting systems, with a particular focus on the following aspects: Rigorous expression of the security properties intended from and/or exhibited by a voting system, in order to both improve our understanding of what can be achieved in general, and of the properties, and potential weaknesses, of actual systems.
Further, the design of voting systems and components thereof (cryptographic schemes, …), that offer, firstly, a more effective balance between coercion-resistance and, secondly, usability and improved robustness, resilience to incidents, and more effective dispute resolution procedures.
On the event of the adoption of the draft regulation laying down measures for a high common level of cybersecurity at the institutions, bodies, offices and agencies of the Union, the AI4HealthSec project kicked off a process to provide its opinion.
