AEGIS team has just released the results of the "Identification of EU-US Priorities on Cybersecurity and Privacy R&I" survey.

The survey gathered valuable insights from ICT and cybersecurity researchers, industry professionals, decision makers, government institutions and associations from Europe and the United States.

The following is a concise recap of the most important elements highlighted in the survey:

⭕ Augmented interest in collaborative research and innovation between the EU and the US in the fields of cybersecurity and privacy.

⭕ Top 4 cybersecurity research priorities for EU-US collaboration are: Data Security and Privacy, Trust and Privacy, the Fight Against Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Education.

⭕ In terms of applications and technologies, survey respondents considered the Internet of Things to be the most critical.

⭕ Health and Financial Services sectors are overwhelmingly considered the most important sectors that needs protection.

⭕ The cybersecurity and privacy community views the different policies and legislation in the EU and the US as a major barrier for collaboration. The lack of coordination between funding programs is also considered a significant barrier.
